We got word that Patriot Towing would be closing a few weeks ago. However, there was no warning within 24 hours of the incident involving the owner's arrest. As a result, the company was dissolved, and released all employees.
Not many details were released; however, we could gather statements from former employees. According to Buck Billy, a former supervisor, "The company seemed to be doing well; however, in recent weeks, we lost lots of business. This made many waves of panic as we got massive pay cuts starting with lower employees. Then one day, two months ago, we started bringing in millions of dollars in what appeared to be legit money. However, no new tows were in the records and no new contracts. Many didn't care because they got massive raises and returned to sitting in the trucks and getting paid for it". According to another investigator, there was evidence of a vast drug business. After Police raided the tow yard, they found a drug lab behind it locked with steel doors and electric locks. It took them 3.5 hours to open the doors and reveal what was behind them. This was enough for Gang units to arrest the owner and charge him with multiple felonies. The owner's name wasn't released and was wiped from the company's tax records. This was the statement that was removed from the audio investigation. " I didn't know about the shed. It's not even our property." -SAST.
According to SAST's Strategic Response Unit, they had been given intel that there was possible drug growing on the property. The person that gave them a tip is unknown. They released this statement. "On 3/20/2021, we received a suggestion on what could have been a hub or plant for one of the most prominent drug rings in the state. On 4/1/2021, we gained a search warrant and began gathering intel about the layout and habits of the employees.
We severed the search warrant and searched the entire property where we found evidence that they were making the drugs and transporting it with the trucks they had."- SAST SRU.
